Netflix is taking viewers in-depth on everything from their favorite artists’ lives to the inner workings of gorillas and new evidence in the killing of cyclist Moriah Wilson this April.
The streamer is also premiering a comedy called Roommates, starring Adam Sandler’s daughter Sadie Sandler and Chloe East as college freshmen making their way through their first year away from home.
And for the starriest film on the slate, Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton battle it out in Apex, which follows a woman attempting to outrun a man intent on hunting her in the woods.
Here are the six Netflix movies you need to watch in April 2026.
“The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson” drops April 3. Four years after the record-breaking cyclist was killed, her friends and family revisit her story. Helmed by the producer of Free Solo and the director of Lance, the film relies heavily on body cam footage and first person accounts of the direct aftermath of Wilson’s murder.
“Noah Kahan: Out of Body” arrives April 13. For the first time in his career, Kahan is opening his personal life up to his fans. The documentary follows the folk singer-songwriter during and after a whirlwind tour as he returns to his Vermont home and attempts to reconnect with who and what fuels him and his art. As a musician who has often spoken up about mental health, the documentary also covers how he grounds himself and contends with his fame.
“A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough” premieres April 17. Attenborough steps in front of the camera to tell a piece of his story as it intersected with one gorilla family. Using archival footage of a young Attenborough meeting the gorilla family for the first time and new clips of the family now, viewers get an intimate look at their lives across several decades.
“Roommates” also hits April 17. Sadie Sandler leads as a college freshman in a frenemy situation with her roommate. The cast includes Nick Kroll, Sarah Sherman and Natasha Lyonne, with Sadie and costar Chloe East anchoring the movie with their on- and off-again friendship.
“Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool” lands April 22. The documentary charts her rise from the first song she ever wrote — when she found her calling — to selling out stadiums and acting in Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him.
“Apex” closes out the month on April 24. Theron plays a rock climber who finds herself in a perilous situation when she comes face-to-face with Egerton, who plays a sadistic hunter trying to take her out. It is one hour and 44 minutes of all-out fighting for survival from both sides.
