After a Nigerian influencer reposted an old video mocking her age, Nicki Minaj fired back online, threatening legal action over harassment and copyright.

Pop superstar Nicki Minaj is pushing back against a viral social media post that mocked her age, warning a Nigerian influencer that legal action may follow.
The online clash began over the weekend when Nigerian medical doctor and content creator Dr. Penking shared an old video of the rapper on X.
The clip, which appeared to be years old, was paired with a blunt caption suggesting the artist had “gotten old” and should retire.
The post quickly gained traction across the platform, drawing thousands of reactions and sparking debate among fans and critics alike. Some users defended Minaj and called the post disrespectful, while others treated it as typical celebrity commentary common on social media.
Minaj, however, saw the situation differently.
In a public response on her verified account, the rapper questioned whether Dr. Penking had permission to repost the video and accused him of using the footage to ridicule her.
She also suggested the post could amount to both cyberbullying and copyright misuse.
“Do you have permission to use this video that I filmed years ago to harass me on this or any platform?” Minaj wrote. “You’ve just been added to the suit.”
However, Minaj later deleted the post.
Dr. Penking refused to back down on this matter, stating that he has the right to “freedom of speech” and is prepared for this lawsuit.
Her message indicated the influencer might be included in an ongoing legal case she has previously referenced online, though details of that lawsuit were not immediately clear.
Dr. Penking, who describes himself as a medical doctor with a distinction in Human Anatomy, is known on social media for sharing health tips, commentary and personal opinions with followers.
His posts often mix medical information with broader discussions about culture and public figures.
As of the time of publication, he had not issued a public response to Minaj’s warning or addressed the possibility of legal action.
The dispute highlights the increasingly blurred line between celebrity commentary and potential legal consequences on social media — where a single post can quickly turn into a global conversation.
