Polish YouTuber Raises Over $76 Million for Cancer Charity During 9-Day Livestream — Shatters World Record

Piotr Hancke, known online as “Latwogang,” breaks the Guinness record for fundraising via livestream, collecting a staggering sum for the Cancer Fighters Foundation

A Polish YouTuber has rewritten the playbook on digital philanthropy. Piotr Hancke — known to his millions of followers as “Latwogang” — wrapped a grueling 9-day livestream on April 26, raising more than $76 million (276 million Polish złoty) for the Cancer Fighters Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting children battling cancer.

It is the largest sum ever raised through a single livestream fundraiser in recorded history.

The campaign obliterated the previous Guinness World Record held by ZEvent, a fundraising project organized by two French streamers that pulled in roughly $19 million last year. Hancke surpassed that figure by a factor of four — a margin that has left the digital media industry stunned.

Every dollar raised is directed to the Cancer Fighters Foundation, a Warsaw-based charity dedicated exclusively to pediatric cancer patients.

According to the BBC, Hancke streamed from his personal apartment in Warsaw for the duration of the event. For all nine days, Polish rapper Bedoes 2115’s track “I’m Still Here” — featuring Maja Mecan — played on loop. The song was originally written as a diss track aimed at a rival artist, but its underlying subject matter is cancer, lending the marathon stream a raw emotional core.

The livestream’s finale drew more than 1.5 million concurrent viewers — numbers that rival major U.S. broadcast television events, according to The Guardian.

The event drew major celebrity participation, including Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, tennis superstar Iga Świątek, and Polish soccer icon Robert Lewandowski. Their involvement elevated the campaign from a regional streaming event into a globally recognized cultural moment, generating mainstream media coverage across Europe and North America.

In a statement posted to Instagram following the stream’s conclusion, Hancke made clear he has no intention of capitalizing on the moment personally — declining all media interviews and public appearances.

“This simply isn’t about us — it’s about children and everyone who has no choice but to fight this injustice. Let’s change the way we think about cancer forever. It’s not a death sentence — we will overcome it and fight it. Always with our heads held high.” — Piotr Hancke, Latwogang
