Speaking via the Associated Press, the spokesperson added that William and Kate’s “thoughts remain focused on the victims,” signaling a careful but firm stance amid growing public attention.
The newly released files have revived discussion around King Charles’ brother, Prince Andrew, whose past relationship with the late convicted sex offender has long troubled the monarchy. Andrew, who lost his royal titles and public duties in 2022, is referenced and pictured multiple times in the documents, though he is not formally accused in this latest release.
The renewed attention reportedly prompted Andrew to leave his Windsor residence earlier than planned. He is now staying at Sandringham, a privately owned estate belonging to King Charles — a move widely viewed as an effort to further distance the working royal family from the controversy.
Andrew has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and previously apologized for his association with Epstein. In 2022, he reached a financial settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual abuse when she was a teenager — allegations he strongly denied.
