Ivanna Lisette Ortiz — the Florida woman accused of opening fire on Rihanna‘s L.A. home — has been completely cut off from her child.
A Florida judge ruled that Ortiz would have zero contact with her child until further order of the court… the only exception being if the child’s father personally approves it. The court awarded the child’s father 100% time-sharing… meaning full custody and control over the child’s day-to-day life.
Ortiz had already been placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold in Florida before any of this went down. Her record also included a 2023 domestic violence charge against her ex-husband, multiple careless driving citations, and a 2013 bankruptcy filing. She claimed the psychiatric hold was based on false accusations, but the judge still flagged serious concerns.
Before the shooting, Ortiz’s obsession with Rihanna had already raised red flags. As recently as January 2026, she posted a video saying — “Listen Rihanna, when you die God is taking me to my future.” Authorities said there was no known personal connection between Ortiz and the singer.

Ortiz was arrested and booked on March 8 on suspicion of attempted murder. Investigators say she drove from Orlando, Florida to California, pulled up to Rihanna’s Beverly Crest property in a white Tesla, and opened fire with an AR-15-style rifle. Rihanna was home at the time along with her partner A$AP Rocky, their three kids, her mother, and two staff members. Ortiz was taken into custody about 30 minutes later in a Sherman Oaks parking lot, where police recovered the AR-15 from her vehicle.
In court, Ortiz pleaded not guilty. She faces attempted murder charges plus 10 counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm. Her public defender tried to get her bail reduced, but that request was shot down. The court also barred her from any contact with Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. On top of that, Ortiz — a former licensed speech-language pathologist — had her professional license revoked.
Ortiz is still being held without bond as the criminal case plays out in California… and the Florida judge clearly took notice. Following the shooting, Rihanna was photographed boarding a private flight and leaving town.
The court also put the larger custody battle on hold. The ongoing case to modify custody won’t be scheduled for trial until Ortiz’s criminal case tied to the Rihanna shooting has been resolved.
