In a new “WSJ. Magazine” interview, the Spice Girls singer speaks publicly for the first time about the family’s ongoing estrangement — but stops short of naming her eldest son
Victoria Beckham is addressing the family feud that dominated entertainment headlines earlier this year. In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal‘s WSJ. Magazine, the 51-year-old was asked directly about her eldest son — though she declined to use his name throughout.
“We love our children so much,” Victoria told the outlet. “We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years now — all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And that’s all I really want to say about it.”

The comments follow Brooklyn Peltz Beckham’s explosive January Instagram Stories posts, in which he made serious accusations against his parents. Brooklyn alleged that David and Victoria had worked “endlessly to ruin” his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz Beckham — prioritizing publicity and endorsement deals over their family.
Brooklyn also claimed that ahead of their April 2022 Florida wedding, he was offered a “bribe” to sign away the rights to his name, and that Victoria “hijacked” his wedding dance with Nicola and “danced inappropriately” on him.
“I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private,” Brooklyn wrote. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled — I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

One day after Brooklyn’s posts, David addressed the situation during a January 20 appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box. “I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media — for the good and for the bad,” he said, adding that children “are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn.”
A source close to the situation told PEOPLE that “David and Victoria have repeatedly asked Brooklyn and Nicola to meet and talk in order to move forward.” Brooklyn’s camp, however, pushed back on that characterization.
The Beckham family has operated as a global brand for decades — spanning fashion, sports, and entertainment. Victoria Beckham’s eponymous fashion label and David’s stake in Inter Miami CF are among the multi-million-dollar business interests now shadowed by a very public family breakdown.
When a dispute of this scale plays out in the press, brand value, sponsorship deals, and public image all take a hit — and that’s what makes this more than a celebrity family drama.
There are currently no signs of reconciliation on either side.
