Tony and Emmy Award winner Billy Crystal is set to return to Broadway this fall with his new solo show ‘860’. The show is named after the address of the home he lost in the 2025 Palisades fires. It will be directed by Scott Ellis.

The production is written and performed by Crystal himself and will run as a limited 12-week engagement. Previews are scheduled to begin in October at a Shubert Theatre, which has yet to be officially announced.

In a statement, Crystal said he’s pumped to bring this one to Broadway, calling it the most challenging thing he’s taken on in years. He explained that “860” was the address of the home where he and his family lived for 46 years before it was lost in the Palisades fires.

He wants audiences to walk those rooms with him. According to him, the show will feature a mix of funny and emotional stories from both his professional career and his family life. He made clear this isn’t a career retrospective — it gets personal.

He further described ‘860’ as something that hits hard but leaves you standing, centered on how the love of family and friends, along with inner strength, can carry you through the worst of it. He’s clearly ready to get back out there and welcome audiences to this new production.

The show will be produced by Janice Crystal, James L. Nederlander, Larry Magid, and Face Productions. More team members will be named soon.

Crystal’s Broadway track record isn’t small either. He made his debut in 2004 with his one-man show ‘700 Sundays’, which became the highest-grossing non-musical production in Broadway history at the time. The show was later recorded in front of a live audience and aired as an HBO special in April 2014. It received four Emmy nominations and was also released on DVD later that year.

He returned to Broadway again in 2022 with ‘Mr. Saturday Night’, a musical adaptation of his 1992 film. The production earned five Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical and Best Leading Actor in a Musical for Crystal. It was also recognized in categories such as Best Book of a Musical, Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and Best Original Score. The cast album for the show received a Grammy nomination as well.

Director Scott Ellis currently serves as the Interim Artistic Director of the Roundabout Theatre Company. His Broadway credits include productions such as ‘Fallen Angels’, ‘Art’, ‘Pirates! The Penzance Musical’, ‘Doubt’, ‘Take Me Out’—which won the Tony Award for Best Revival—’Tootsie’, and ‘Kiss Me Kate’, among others.

This one’s different though — it’s not a show, it’s a house he’s letting you into.
