Kim Kardashian is taking her criminal justice reform advocacy to Broadway, joining the producing team of The Fear of 13 — a prison drama starring Adrien Brody and Tessa Thompson that opens April 15.
Kardashian has become part of the producing team for the prison drama The Fear of 13. This project is centered on a serious subject and goes beyond entertainment to spotlight issues within the criminal justice system. The play stars Academy Award winner Adrien Brody and Emmy-nominated actress Tessa Thompson in leading roles.
Written by Lindsey Ferrentino, the play is currently in previews on Broadway. Prior to this, it had a successful run in London’s West End, where it earned strong reviews from both audiences and critics. The story is based on the real-life experiences of Nick Yarris, who spent more than two decades on death row for a murder he has consistently maintained he did not commit. The narrative exposes cracks in the justice system and the circumstances that led to a wrongful conviction.
The production is directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer, known for his work on “The Band’s Visit.” The official opening night is scheduled for April 15, and the show has already generated considerable anticipation among theatergoers.
Kim Kardashian has long been associated with advocacy in criminal justice reform. She has actively worked to bring attention to cases involving wrongfully convicted individuals and has supported efforts toward prison reform and clemency. She also completed a four-year law apprenticeship and sat for the California Bar Exam, though she has not yet passed it. Despite that, her involvement in legal and justice-related issues hasn’t wavered.
Recently, Kardashian also appeared in the legal drama series “All’s Fair,” alongside prominent actors such as Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, and Sarah Paulson. Both projects keep her focus squarely on law and justice.
In her statement, Kardashian emphasized that her commitment to criminal justice reform goes beyond policy — it’s about real people and real lives. She noted that powerful storytelling can often be one of the most powerful ways to shift public thinking, and described “The Fear of 13” as a story that sheds light on wrongful conviction and systemic failures within the justice system.
The play is produced by Seaview, Wessex Grove, and Gavin Kalin Productions. The supporting cast includes Ephraim Sykes, Michael Cavinder, Eddie Cooper, Victor Cruz, and Eboni Flowers.
Additionally, the production has collaborated with the Innocence Project, an organization dedicated to exonerating the wrongly convicted and preventing future miscarriages of justice. The partnership adds real weight to the play’s social mission.
