Cardi B is making it clear: leave her name out of it.

The Grammy-winning rapper found herself unexpectedly pulled into a political controversy this week after a new report alleged that fake social media accounts amplified Nicki Minaj’s recent political content.

When a self-described adviser to President Donald Trump tried to connect Cardi to the claims, she didn’t stay quiet.

The report, published by Politico and conducted by Israeli data-tracking company Cyabra, examined activity on Nicki Minaj’s X account. According to the analysis, about 33 percent of nearly 55,000 accounts that interacted with Minaj over a two-month period were labeled inauthentic.

On Dec. 26, the report claimed that 56 percent of comments on Minaj’s political posts came from fake accounts.

Cyabra concluded that a coordinated effort may have been amplifying Minaj’s political content online.

Soon after the story went live, Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz criticized the findings and called the report a “scam.” He pointed to the fact that Cardi B’s agent, Mike G, is affiliated with Cyabra, implying that Cardi had some connection to the analysis.

That’s when Cardi stepped in.

Taking to X, the “Bodak Yellow” artist denied any involvement with the report and pushed back strongly against being tied to it. She explained that Cyabra is a data company with multiple investors and clients, adding that she has no role in her agent’s business investments.

“I don’t keep track of my agents’ investments,” Cardi wrote, making it clear she had nothing to do with the research on Minaj.

She also emphasized that the focus should be on the data itself — not on her.

Cyabra has publicly listed several high-profile names connected to the company, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as a board adviser.

The company says it specializes in identifying disinformation and inauthentic online activity.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj has not publicly responded to the report.

The controversy adds another layer to the long-running tension between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. The two rappers have feuded for years, both online and in public moments that have made headlines. Most recently, the friction resurfaced around sales of Cardi’s latest album, Am I the Drama?

At the same time, Minaj has grown more vocal in conservative political spaces. In January, she appeared alongside Donald Trump at an event announcing his proposed Trump Accounts policy. She later said she received a “Trump Gold Card,” which she claimed finalized her U.S. citizenship.

The Cyabra report does not accuse Minaj of orchestrating fake activity. Instead, it suggests that outside forces may have amplified her posts.

For Cardi, though, the bigger issue was being dragged into something she says has nothing to do with her.

In one of her posts, she criticized the state of national priorities, pointing to high interest rates, struggling businesses and housing concerns. She questioned why a political adviser was arguing with a rapper online instead of focusing on larger issues.

For now, what began as a data report has turned into another headline-making moment in hip-hop — and a reminder that in today’s social media world, even indirect connections can spark very public battles.
