Zac Efron made a heartwarming surprise appearance during the Dancing with the Stars season 34 semi-finals on Tuesday, Nov. 18, showing up in the audience to cheer on his younger brother, Dylan Efron.

The High School Musical star, 38, was spotted proudly supporting Dylan, 33, with their 5-year-old sister Olivia sitting on his lap throughout the night.

The semi-final round featured a special Prince Night theme, and Dylan and his partner Daniella Karagach kicked off their performances with a Tango to Prince’s iconic 1984 hit, “I Would Die 4 U.”

When cameras cut to Zac in the crowd, the ballroom erupted with cheers, drawing smiles from both brothers.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called the performance “impressive,” though she noted a small footwork mix-up. She urged the audience to “hold your boos,” explaining that the challenge with Prince’s music is capturing its emotion and essence.

Derek Hough praised Dylan’s “strong frame” and consistency, even taking a moment to acknowledge Zac in the audience. Bruno Tonioli described the Tango as “sharp” and full of intensity. The pair earned a 27/30 for the round.

For their second dance, a Cha Cha set to Prince’s “Kiss,” Dylan and Daniella turned up the energy. At the conclusion of the routine, Zac lifted Olivia high into the air as she celebrated with outstretched arms, drawing adorable reactions from viewers.

Bruno dubbed Dylan a “sexy beast,” while Derek applauded the precision and “so good” details of the performance. The couple scored 28/30 for the dance.

Zac continued his support on social media, using his Instagram Story to encourage fans to vote for Dylan. The appearance also echoed a past moment: Zac previously attended DWTS in 2006 to support High School Musical co-star Monique Coleman.

Earlier in the season, during Dedication Night on Oct. 14, Dylan paid tribute to his siblings. He and Olivia performed to “Rewrite the Stars,” Zac’s duet with Zendaya from The Greatest Showman.

Dylan shared that the dance honored Zac, who “always took care of me,” adding that he strives to be “the best role model I can” for their younger sister. Olivia expressed her admiration too, calling Dylan her “best friend.”

Overcome with emotion, Dylan called the moment “the best” of the season so far.

The Dancing with the Stars finale airs Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
